Welcome!  My name is Mrs. Kim Gilbert and I am your child's School Counselor! This will be year 26 for me! This is year 2 for me with Connect! I have a Bachelor's Degree from Campbell University in Social Work and a Masters in Education-School Counseling from Campbell University. I have been in Moore County for the past 17 years!  I have worked as a Social Worker in Cumberland County for 8 years in Child Protective Services and Adoptions.  I spent about 3 years working as a Social Worker for Hospice while working on my Masters in Counseling, getting married and having 2 wonderful sons!  Both of my boys went through Moore County Schools starting at Vass Lakeview Daycare/Preschool then elementary school.  They then joined me at Crain's Creek Middle School where I was a Counselor from the day it open in 2010 until June of 2022. They  both graduated from Union Pines High School as Vikings playing soccer, football and were both in the Orchestra! They are both now attending NC State. One is an incoming Freshman the other a rising Junior! I say all of that to say, I have a vested interest in this County, your children and Moore County Schools!  If you need anything please do not hesitate to reach out!

I am your connection for: All grades K-12. I handle all things High School related including Class Registration, Graduation, Scholarships and Sandhills Community College.  I provide Social Emotional Support/learning experiences for all students, k-12.  I will be meeting with k-8 students providing SEL lessons, offering support through my Counselors Canvas(9-12 and 6-8) and Google Classrooms(k-2 and 3-5) and through virtual check ins with students.  I will be your contact person for 504 plans.
